I recently posted a tip for easier peeling of hard boiled eggs that I personally found useful. It makes the shells softer and the peeling of the hard-boiled egg much easier.
I was pleasantly surprised to come across a vintage Gallaher cigarette tip card that was promoting the same handy idea that I posted. Gallaher brand cigarettes included a type of trading card which included tips which even today seem timeless.
These early trading cards not only included useful tips but cigarette cards were known to depicted actors, military heros, sports figures, and other famous people. The cards were very collectible and can be found still today on many different websites being offered for sale.
So take a tip from an early 1900s trading card and try a little vinegar in with your water when you are boiling eggs. I think you will find it works well for softening the shells and allowing easier peeling of your hard boiled eggs.
